The colour scheme on this ended up resembling Megadeth's "Peace Sells..." cover, which I suppose is no bad thing. I spent some time researching the pistols as I don't usually draw mechanical objects. I also wanted the teeth to resemble bullets somewhat, but that didn't really end up being the case. Still, I'm happy with the result.

Photoshop all the way, from first to last. Colouring is done from the beginning: I start by blocking in colours using large brushes, then work in some details; often I'll play around with colour contrasts using Hue/Saturation. Eventually I start to build up more layers of detail, at which point I move to using smaller and smaller brushes for the bits that suit detail.

This guy kind of makes me think about the main character in the game 'Blood' (not a bad thing at all). And the pistols turned out just fine, I love the rust on the one in his left hand.
